The various types of imaging studies are discussed in detail, including MRI, CT scan, MR spectroscopy, functional MR. Dr. Cerullo also discusses the use of physiological testing, including visual field testing, brainstem evoked potential testing and somatosensory evoked potential testing. Dr. Cerullo also discusses the use of biopsy which provides the neurosurgeon with the DNA make-up of the tumor. This information provides a foundation for planning of the treatment protocol. Now, the seven members of the Manheim-based racing club have shifted gears and added a second goal — helping an area family whose child suffered a severe brain injury. Eighteen-month-old Israel Newswanger, son of Jon and Danielle Newswanger of New Holland, stopped breathing when he was 5 months old.
