Okay I’ll make it short. Yesterday morning a friend of mine wrecked an ATV and was in critical condition and was quickly rescued by flight for life. He had swelling in his brain, and this morning he had a stroke. After his surgery from the stroke the pressure in his brain went from 49 to 15 (I don’t know how pressure in the brain is measured.) He was injured on the left side of his head and was able to move his right hand. Just tell me the truth about y friends near future and what he may have to go through.
Will He Survive This Brain Injury?

This is truly a hard one to answer for the prognosis for each individual receiving this type of injury varies greatly.
I am a 7 year traumatic brain injury survivor. I was in a coma for 1 month and remained in the hospital for 3. My Mom decided to take me home (against hospital wishes) to care for me herself. I feel this is why I healed to where I am today.
I am independent, married, and a mother to two now. It has been a long 7 years and the beginning looked bad. Dr’s told everyone that I would die, and I lived. They said I would not walk on my own or fully speak again and I am.
Ignore what dr’s suspect and just be there for your friend. Tell the family of your friend toput pictures, etc. in the hospital room. Talk a lot with him/her.
Al in all, have faith. It does not have to come from a religious perspective, just have hope. It is your friend and a highr power that will decide how he/she comes through.
I wish you and your friend the best.
Also, if your friend pulls through:
All will be forever hanged in your friend. Do a lot of reserach online and in books about this injury and the affects.Although all people wil hold different parts in recovery, this can help you to accept all that occurs from the outcome of al of this.

Only time will tell. It is too early to determine what will be permanent or if he will develop a secondary infection. The next couple of days will be critical. Say your prayers and be by his side.

was he wearing a helmet? Because if he was that will make a huge difference.
